Monterrey defeats Necaxa to book place in 2019 Apertura Liga MX final
Monterrey advanced to the 2019 Apertura Liga MX final after defeating Necaxa 1-0 on Saturday to win 3-1 on aggregate against the club from Aguascalientes.
Necaxa hit the post in second half injury-time needing a goal to go through, but a finish from substitute from Rogelio Funes Mori moments later saw Rayados secure the second leg of the semifinal.
Monterrey will face America or Morelia in the final, with the first leg postponed until Dec. 26 and the return game on Dec. 29 due to Rayados' participation in the Club World Cup In Qatar.
Morelia defeated America 2-0 in the first leg of the semifinal, leaving Las Aguilas with an uphill struggle in the second leg on Sunday in Estadio Azteca.
