      Charlton rise to see off challenge of Truro

      Truro City's first-ever FA Cup first-round appearance ended with a 3-1 defeat to Charlton.The National League South part-timers, the first Cornish team to make this stage in 48 years, bowed out after Ben Reeves netted twice for the Addicks.Charlton, who saw Jake Forster-Caskey's header crash off the bar in the sixth minute, led just four minutes later via Reeves.Reeves collected Jay Dasilva's pass before the midfielder fired beyond Truro goalkeeper Thomas McHale.It was just the start League One Charlton, 76 places and three divisions higher than the non-league minnows, needed to ease any nerves.Tyler Harvey thought he had levelled almost immediately as Charlton's Chris Solly cleared his shot off his own line.Mark Marshall finally gave Charlton breathing space in the 53rd minute as his shot deflected in off Truro's Ed Palmer.Harvey's 59th-minute header from Aaron Lamont's cross gave the 1,000-strong travelling supporters something to shout about.That was until Reeves struck again in the 70th minute as his low shot crept in to ensure there would be no upset.
