Ratinho ties career high as San Francisco beats Pepperdine
MALIBU, Calif. -- Jordan Ratinho tied his career-best with 20 points as San Francisco pulled away in the second half for an 80-67 win over Pepperdine on Saturday afternoon to even its West Coast Conference record.
Ratinho also grabbed seven rebounds with four steals. Nate Renfro and Matt McCarthy added 16 points apiece for the Dons, who made nine more field goals than Pepperdine.
San Francisco (10-7, 2-2) held a 36-32 halftime advantage. Pepperdine scored the first seven points in the second half to take the lead. Ratinho hit a jumper, followed with a 3-pointer and added a layup to retake the lead 47-43 at the 15:16 mark. The Dons never trailed again.
Pepperdine closed to 58-54 with 8:33 left, but Ratinho answered with a trey for a 14-2 surge and the Dons cruised to the win.
Colbey Ross had 23 points to lead Pepperdine (3-13, 0-4), which has lost seven straight games.
