Sam Houston roars back to beat Div-III Schreiner, 81-55

HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Albert Almanza knocked down 6 of 9 3-point attempts to score 22 point off the Sam Houston bench to spark the Bearkats to an 81-55 win over Division III Schreiner University Tuesday night.

Schreiner, from Kerrville, Texas, held a three-point lead at intermission only to watch as Sam Houston finished the game on a 51-22 run.

The win gets Sam Houston (4-3) back on track after dropping two of its three games at the Great Alaska Shootout last week. The Bearkats lost to eventual champion Central Michigan and Charleston before posting a win over Santa Clara.

Almanza knocked down 7 of 13 shots from the field and grabbed five rebounds. Christopher Galbreath Jr. finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds for Sam Houston and Josh Delaney added 12 points off the bench.

Keenan Gumbs scored 16 points to lead Schreiner, with TJ Distefano adding another 12 points.
