Louisiana wins 98-56 on Gant's career night

LAFAYETTE, La. -- JaKeenan Gant scored a career-high 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting, Louisiana hit 13 3-pointers, and the Ragin' Cajuns beat NAIA Loyola New Orleans 98-56 on Wednesday night.

Johnathan Stove and Malik Marquetti scored 13 points apiece, Bryce Washington grabbed 13 rebounds, and Jerekius Davis added 12 points for Louisiana (7-2). The Ragin' Cajuns have won four straight.

Louisiana outrebounded the Wolf Pack 43-24, outscored them 46-22 in the paint and scored 24 points off of 21 turnovers.

Marquetti opened with a 3-pointer and Louisiana led by as many as 27 before taking a 44-19 lead into the break. Gant made back-to-back dunks for a 59-28 lead and Louisiana pulled away on an 8-0 run capped by Marquetti's 3 with 8:47 to play and cruised.

Tre'Von Jasmine led Loyola New Orleans (5-5) with 13 points.
