EMMITSBURG, Md. -- — Seth Towns' 26 points helped Howard defeat Mount St. Mary's 87-83 in double-overtime on Saturday night.
Towns made six free throws and a layup in the second overtime as the Bison outscored Mount St. Mary's 12-8. Towns sent the game to a second OT when he hit a 3-pointer with two seconds left that tied the game 75-75.
Dola Adebayo's dunk for the Mountaineers forced overtime tied 66-all.
Towns also contributed 11 rebounds for the Bison (3-4). Bryce Harris scored 23 points and added three steals. Jelani Williams had 15 points.
The Mountaineers (1-4,) were led by Dakota Leffew, who posted 22 points and two steals. Dallas Hobbs added 20 points for Mount St. Mary's. Jedy Cordilia also had 16 points and eight rebounds.
