Cross and UMass take down Davidson 69-67
DAVIDSON, N.C. -- — Matt Cross led UMass with 26 points and gave the Minutemen the lead with two free throws with 28 seconds remaining in a 69-67 win over Davidson on Saturday.
Cross also contributed five rebounds for the Minutemen (19-10, 10-7 Atlantic 10 Conference). Rahsool Diggins shot 4 for 8, including 4 for 6 from beyond the arc to add 13 points. Daniel Hankins-Sanford was 5 of 12 shooting to finish with 10 points.
Reed Bailey led the Wildcats (15-14, 5-11) in scoring, finishing with 22 points. Connor Kochera added 16 points and six rebounds for Davidson. Grant Huffman also had 14 points and nine assists.
