Brzovic scores career-high 31 points, Charleston downs Hampton 107-86

HAMPTON, Va. -- — Ante Brzovic scored a career-high 31 points to lead Charleston over Hampton 107-86 on Thursday night.

Brzovic, who also had 12 rebounds, went 15 of 19 from the field for the Cougars (14-6, 5-2 Coastal Athletic Association). Reyne Smith scored 15 points, finishing 5 of 10 from 3-point range. Bryce Butler had 14 points and went 6 of 8 from the field.

Kyrese Mullen finished with 32 points and seven rebounds for the Pirates (4-16, 0-8). Hampton also got 17 points and four assists from Jordan Nesbitt. In addition, Tedrick Wilcox Jr. had 17 points and four assists. The loss is the 11th straight for the Pirates.

Charleston took the lead with 4:14 left in the first half and did not give it up. Brzovic led his team in scoring with 16 points in the first half to help put them up 43-39 at the break. Brzovic scored a team-high 15 points in the second half.
