MURRAY, Ky. -- — Jacobi Wood had 24 points in Murray State's 80-68 victory against Valparaiso on Saturday night.
Wood shot 9 for 16 and 5 of 5 from the free throw line for the Racers (12-17, 9-9 Missouri Valley Conference). Nick Ellington scored 14 points and added 11 rebounds. Rob Perry had 12 points and was 5 of 9 shooting, including 1 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 1 for 3 from the line.
Cooper Schwieger led the way for the Beacons (6-23, 2-16) with 26 points. Isaiah Stafford added 13 points, five assists and two steals for Valparaiso. Sherman Weatherspoon IV also had 12 points. The loss is the 10th in a row for the Beacons.
