Clark, Rizzuto help Albany end skid, beat Hartford 84-77

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Ahmad Clark scored 22 points, Antonio Rizzuto added 21 more and Albany fended off Hartford 80-77 Saturday to break a five-game losing streak.

Cam Healy added 19 for the Great Danes (6-15, 1-5 America East Conference) including a pair of late free throws, and Adam Lulka scored 13.

Albany never trailed, led by double-digits early and took a 49-36 lead into halftime. Hartford, coming off its largest win in two decades (74-39 over New Hampshire on Thursday), rallied as close as 75-72 when Travis Weatherington converted a 3-point play with 3:30 to go.

Albany scored the next seven when Clark converted a 3-point play, Healy landed a 3 and Devonte Campbell a free throw.

George Blagojevic led the Hawks (10-11, 3-3) with 19 points. All five starters were in double figures with Weatherington adding 17, Jason Dunne 14, J.R. Lynch 13 and John Carroll 11. The Hartford bench scored three points.

Albany scored 24 points at the free-throw line thanks to 23 Hartford fouls. Dunne and Carroll fouled out.
