Cliff Floyd hit a solo homer in the top of the 10th inning to give the Marlins a 1-0 victory over the Braves on Saturday.

Florida, which is already assured of finishing with the worst record in the National League for the second straight season, can salvage some pride by taking the rubber game from Atlanta, a team it has beaten only four times in 12 meetings this year. Knuckleballer Dennis Springer (6-15, 4.59 ERA) takes the ball for the Marlins, looking for his second straight win after a no-decision in his last outing.

Springer surrendered five runs and five hits over six innings in an 8-6 loss to Colorado on September 26. He was brilliant in his last start against the Braves on July 21, tossing his a seven-hitter for his fourth career shutout in a 2-0 victory.

Tom Glavine (13-11, 4.21) will get his final regular-season tuneup for the Braves. The lefthander has had a turbulent campaign after capturing the Cy Young Award in 1998. But Glavine has excelled in his last two outings, going 2-0 against the second-place New York Mets and allowing three runs and 14 hits over 14 innings.

Glavine is 0-1 in two starts against the Marlins this year, surrendering nine runs and 24 hits.
