Standings
CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- With no chance at home-field advantage in the playoffs, the Cleveland Indians look to head into the postseason on a winning note today in their regular-season finale against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Indians have lost three of four after winning six of seven. Dave Burba (15-8, 4.35 ERA) hopes to head into the postseason on a winning note when he starts for Cleveland. The righthander has developed into one of the Indians' most reliable starters, winning seven of his last eight decisions. He was hit hard at Toronto on September 26, yielding seven runs and nine hits over 5 2/3 innings. Burba pitched well in his first two starts against the Jays this season before last Sunday's poor outing. He is 2-1 all-time vs. Toronto. The Blue Jays have won four of their last five games after dropping nine of 11. Toronto finished 88-74 last season. David Wells (16-10, 4.93) seeks to end his season with a four-game winning streak. The lefthander is 3-0 in his last four starts, winning his last two outings on the road. He limited Tampa Bay to two runs and five hits over seven innings in an 8-2 win Tuesday. Wells gave up two runs ands five hits over five innings in a 4-3 victory at Cleveland on July 22. He has won 10 of 13 career decisions against the Indians.
