Standings
PHOENIX (Ticker) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks look to hit the century mark in wins this afternoon against the San Diego Padres in their final tuneup before the playoffs.
Arizona's postseason opponent is still undetermined as the Diamondbacks could play the New York Mets, Houston Astros or Cincinnati Reds in the Division Series. The defending National League champion Padres will finish with their fewest wins in a non-strike season since going 61-91 in in 1993. Brian Anderson (7-2, 4.75 ERA) starts for the Diamondbacks and is 5-0 over his last 12 games. He fired a complete game Monday against Colorado, yielding three runs and nine hits in a 10-3 victory and has not lost since July 19. Anderson did not get a decision against San Diego on May 26, allowing two runs and seven hits over 6 1/3 innings. He has an 0-2 career mark against the Padres. Heath Murray (0-3, 5.25) makes his first start since July 23 for San Diego. He gave up four runs and seven hits over 5 2/3 innings in a 4-3 loss to Houston. In six relief appearances since then, Murray has given up three earned runs and five hits over 5 2/3 innings. He is making his first career start against Arizona.
