Brown scores 28 as Hustle squeak past Magic

Charlie Brown Jr. led the way with a game-high 28 points as the Memphis Hustle defeated the Osceola Magic 125-122 on Tuesday night at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.

Brown shot 6-for-14 from the field and 9-for-10 from the free throw line and added seven rebounds. Memphis (7-7) received significant contributions from several players, including 20 points each from Tyler Burton and Evan Gilyard II, who shot 5-for-9 from three-point range. DeJon Jarreau posted a versatile stat line with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, while GG Jackson added 15 points and 8 rebounds.

The Magic (8-6) were led by 20-point performances from Orlando Robinson and Jamal Cain. Robinson also pulled down nine rebounds before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Alex Morales contributed 18 points and 8 rebounds before he also fouled out, and Phillip Wheeler scored 16 points off the bench. Lester Quinones added 15 points for Osceola.

The game was a tale of momentum swings. Memphis jumped out to a 42-30 lead after the first quarter, but Osceola stormed back with a 38-point second quarter to take a 68-66 lead into halftime. The second half remained close, with the score tied at 91 entering the fourth.

Foul trouble was a significant factor for the Magic, who saw Reece Beekman foul out, as well. Osceola also committed 28 turnovers.

Up next: The Magic will visit the Santa Cruz Warriors on Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. ET, while the Hustle will host the Valley Suns on Dec. 27 at 8 p.m.
