Capitanes rally in second half to top Blue 102-90

The Mexico City Capitanes defeated the Oklahoma City Blue 102-90 on Tuesday night at Paycom Center. The Capitanes used a dominant second-half performance, outscoring the Blue 64-40 after halftime to overcome a 12-point deficit and secure the road victory.

Andersson Garcia and LJ Figueroa both recorded double-doubles to lead the Capitanes (3-2). Garcia finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Figueroa contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Wade Taylor IV was instrumental in the comeback, adding 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and dishing out five assists. Boo Buie scored 15 points, making three 3-pointers. Ahmad Caver and James Bouknight chipped in 11 points each for a balanced offensive attack that saw six players score in double figures.

Chris Youngblood led all scorers with 29 points for the Blue (1-4), also adding seven rebounds and six assists in the loss. Zhaire Smith provided 19 points and six assists. Manny Obaseki posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Zack Austin scored 13 points and recorded a game-high four blocks. Jabri Abdur-Rahim was the fifth Blue player in double figures with 11 points.

The score was tied at 21 after the first quarter before Oklahoma City used a 29-17 second-quarter run to build a 50-38 lead at the half. The Capitanes seized control in the third quarter, outscoring the Blue 36-21 to take a 74-71 lead. Mexico City continued to pull away in the final period, securing the win with a 28-19 advantage in the fourth quarter.
