House's late three-point play lifts Clippers over Nets 126-125

Jaelen House converted a go-ahead three-point play with less than five seconds remaining to lift the San Diego Clippers to a 126-125 victory over the Long Island Nets at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, on Tuesday. The Clippers outscored the Nets 40-28 in the final period to secure the win.

House came off the bench to lead all scorers, finishing with 29 points and six assists for the San Diego Clippers (3-4). The Clippers featured two players with double-doubles, as Zach Freemantle had 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Patrick Baldwin Jr. contributed 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Jahmyl Telfort added 17 points and four assists. Taylor Funk and John Poulakidas each chipped in with 13 points, with Funk also dishing out five assists.

The Long Island Nets (3-3) had seven players in double figures in the loss. Nate Williams led the team with 23 points and four assists. The Malachi Smith and Tyson Etienne each recorded eight assists. Smith scored 17 points and Etienne finished with 16. Jay Scrubb provided 15 points off the bench, while Chaney Johnson and Hunter Cattoor scored 12 points apiece.

Long Island started strong, building a 40-22 lead after the first quarter. San Diego worked its way back, cutting the deficit to 64-55 at halftime before taking control in the fourth quarter. With the Clippers trailing by two, House drove to the basket for a layup and was fouled by Chaney Johnson. He made the subsequent free throw to give San Diego 126-125 lead. A last-second layup attempt by Williams was blocked by Derek Ogbeide to seal the comeback victory for the Clippers.
