Brown, Celtics erase 20-point deficit, stun Herd

The Maine Celtics defeated the Wisconsin Herd 114-106 on Wednesday night at Oshkosh Arena, overcoming a 20-point third-quarter deficit to win their fifth consecutive game. Maine outscored Wisconsin 29-15 in the final period.

Kendall Brown led the charge for the Celtics (6-4), scoring a team-high 25 points to go with six rebounds and four steals. Jalen Bridges also was a key factor in the comeback, finishing with 22 points, including six 3-pointers. Tosan Evbuomwan, in his debut with the team, added 21 points, four rebounds and four assists. Point guard Hayden Gray orchestrated the offense with 12 points and a game-high nine assists, while Stefan Todorovic provided a spark off the bench with 13 points.

For the Herd (4-6), Cormac Ryan tallied a team-high 25 points and seven assists. Stephen Thompson recorded a double-double with 22 points (connecting on five 3-pointers) and 10 rebounds. Veteran guard Victor Oladipo contributed 18 points and four assists. John Butler Jr. and Jeremiah Tilmon Jr. finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively, while Tilmon also pulled down eight rebounds.

Wisconsin appeared to be in complete control after opening the third quarter with a run to build a 20-point lead. However, Maine stormed back, cutting the deficit to just six points by the start of the fourth. The Celtics capitalized on 21 turnovers by the Herd to complete the comeback on the road. Wisconsin's loss snapped a stretch in which it had won four of its previous five games.
