Johnson, Reeves lead Swarm past Knicks 123-111
The Greensboro Swarm defeated the Westchester Knicks 123-111 on Thursday night at the Westchester County Center. Greensboro withstood a second-half rally from Westchester, using a late run to secure the road victory.
The Swarm (7-3) featured a balanced offensive attack with six players scoring in double figures. Keyontae Johnson led the team with 22 points, five rebounds and three steals. Antonio Reeves contributed 21 points, hitting five 3-pointers, and added six rebounds. KJ Simpson orchestrated the offense with 18 points and a game-high eight assists, while Eric Dixon scored 12 points. Center Ibou Badji finished with 10 points and four blocks, and Jaylen Sims provided 11 points off the bench.
For the Knicks (3-8), who were playing without recently traded leading scorer Donovan Williams, Bryson Warren scored a game-high 29 points on seven 3-pointers and dished out six assists. Isaiah Roby posted 24 points, four rebounds and four assists. Dink Pate had 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Off the bench, Manny Obaseki scored 12 points and recorded four blocks, while Nick Jourdain added 10 points.
Westchester trailed by as many as 16 points but rallied in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to three. However, Greensboro responded with a decisive 21-12 run to close out the game. The Knicks set a franchise mark by attempting 56 3-pointers, the second most in a single game in team history. Greensboro controlled the interior, outscoring Westchester 58-38 and capitalizing on turnovers to generate 29 fast-break points.
