Spurs use dominant fourth quarter to overcome Blue

The Austin Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Blue 127-112 on Tuesday night at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. The Spurs overcame a six-point deficit entering the final period by outscoring the Blue 39-18 in the fourth quarter to secure their fifth consecutive victory.

The Spurs (6-4) showcased their depth with eight different players scoring in double figures. Donovan Williams led the offensive effort with 26 points and seven rebounds. Tre King provided a significant spark off the bench, scoring 19 points while making five of his seven 3-point attempts. Harrison Ingram posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Elfrid Payton nearly recorded a triple-double off the bench with 10 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds. Other key contributors included Stanley Umude with 18 points, Jayden Nunn with 15, James Banks III with 14 and Kyle Mangas with 12.

The Blue (2-11), competing with an injury-depleted roster of just seven available players, were led by a career-best performance from Bryce Thompson. Thompson scored 37 points and added seven rebounds. Zhaire Smith scored 23 points, and Buddy Boeheim finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and six 3-pointers. Guard Anthony Pritchard recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out eight assists.

Oklahoma City controlled the game for the first three quarters and held a 94-88 advantage heading into the final frame. However, Austin took control with a decisive 17-0 run in the fourth quarter to build a lead they would not relinquish. The Blue struggled offensively down the stretch as fatigue appeared to set in against the deeper Spurs roster.
