Davis' 21 points spur Lakers' comeback over Skyhawks
RJ Davis led the charge for the Lakers with a team-high 21 points, including 12 in the decisive fourth quarter, as South Bay rallied to defeat the College Park Skyhawks 121-107 on Tuesday night at the UCLA Health Training Center.
Davis, who also posted six assists, was one of seven to score in double figures for the Lakers (7-6). Kobe Bufkin contributed 19 points and five assists. Kylor Kelley recorded his third consecutive double-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and a game-high six blocks. Augustas Marciulionis provided a spark off the bench with a double-double of his own, scoring 10 points and dishing out 10 assists. Other key contributors included Arthur Kaluma with 17 points off the bench and starters Anton Watson with 14 points and Chris Manon with 10.
For College Park (4-11), Asa Newell led all scorers with 26 points while adding six rebounds and three blocks. RayJ Dennis posted a double-double with 24 points and 10 assists, as did Kobe Johnson with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Caleb Houstan was the only other Skyhawk to score in double figures, finishing with 10 points.
The Skyhawks controlled the game early, building a 35-24 lead after the first quarter and taking a 68-60 advantage into halftime. The Lakers seized momentum after the break, outscoring College Park 27-15 in the third quarter to take their first lead. South Bay continued to build on its lead in the final period, outscoring the visitors 34-24 to pull away.
