Bufkin scores career-high 41 as Lakers top Go-Go

Fueled by a career-high 41 points from Kobe Bufkin, the South Bay Lakers defeated the Capital City Go-Go 124-111 on Wednesday night at CareFirst Arena.

Bufkin was nearly unstoppable for the visiting Lakers (10-7) with a personal-best eight 3-pointers on 13 attempts. The guard did most of his damage in a dominant first half by making his first seven 3-point attempts. Bufkin rounded out his stat line with eight assists, two rebounds and a pair of steals. South Bay pulled away with a 39-16 second quarter and never relinquished the lead.

South Bay received strong supporting performances. Anton Watson was efficient, scoring 26 points on 12-of-17 shooting while adding six rebounds. RJ Davis contributed 25 points and matched Bufkin with a team-high eight assists. Chris Manon controlled the glass in pulling down 11 rebounds, and Arthur Kaluma added 10 points and six boards.

Capital City (9-7) was led by Skal Labissiere, who tied his season high with 29 points and matched a career high with six 3s. Keshon Gilbert recorded a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 11 assists. Alondes Williams scored 23 points, Leaky Black added 17 points on 5-of-7 from deep and Jamir Watkins chipped in with 10 points. The Go-Go made 21 3-pointers, as compared with South Bay's 13, but it was not enough to overcome the Lakers' offensive firepower.

Up next: The Go-Go will host the Lakers again on Friday at 11 a.m. ET.
