Hayes' double-double powers Charge to high-scoring win over Skyhawks
The Cleveland Charge scored at least 38 points in every quarter on their way to a 156-126 win over the College Park Skyhawks on Wednesday night at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia.
Killian Hayes orchestrated the attack for the Charge (11-5), finishing with 26 points and a game-high 18 assists, while also grabbing seven rebounds. Norchad Omier posted 26 points and controlled the paint with 20 rebounds and three blocks. Riley Minix led all scorers with 28 points, connecting on 6 of 9 attempts from 3-point range. Emanuel Miller added 17 points and four rebounds.
Four other Charge players also scored in double figures. Sean McNeil scored 14 points while making 4 of 5 3-pointers, Darius Brown had 14 points and six assists, Jaxson Robinson added 12 points from beyond the arc, and Zeke Mayo contributed 10 points and eight assists off the bench.
For the Skyhawks (4-15), RayJ Dennis had 18 assists and 19 points. Javan Johnson was the team's leading scorer with 23 points, including five 3-pointers, and Dwight Murray Jr. scored 21 points on 9-for-12 shooting off the bench. Malik Williams contributed 19 points and two blocks for the Skyhawks, and Basheer Jihad recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite seven players scoring in double figures, College Park could not keep pace with Cleveland's offensive efficiency and firepower from long range. The Charge set a franchise record with 27 made 3-pointers.
