Reeves scores 31 as Swarm clobber Go-Go
Antonio Reeves put up a team-high 31 points as the Greensboro Swarm led wire-to-wire in defeating the Capital City Go-Go 136-119 on Wednesday night at Novant Health Fieldhouse.
The Swarm (13-6) jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back, with Reeves doing his damage on 12-of-15 shooting, including six 3-pointers. The host team had six players score in double figures. Marcus Garrett was efficient with 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting to go with four assists. Jaylen Sims posted 17 points and eight rebounds, while Terrell Brown Jr. chipped in with 13 points and four assists. DJ Rodman added 19 points and three 3-pointers off the bench along with Jonas Aidoo, who recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Go-Go (10-9) were paced by a game-high 35 points from Skal Labissiere, who shot an impressive 15-of-21 from the field and grabbed 10 rebounds. Damari Monsanto provided a significant spark from the second unit, scoring 26 points and hitting six of his nine 3-point attempts in just 24 minutes of action. Alondes Williams finished with 21 points and 10 assists, and Nolan Hickman registered 14 points and 10 assists.
Greensboro broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Capital City 44-23 to build a lead as large as 26 points.
The Swarm shot 57.3% from the field as a team and 14-of-16 from the foul line, while the Go-Go shot 53.5% overall and 16-of-32 from 3-point territory.
