Knicks use balanced attack to edge Gold

Seven players scored in double figures as the Westchester Knicks earned a 124-119 victory over the Grand Rapids Gold on Thursday night at the Westchester County Center.

Pacome Dadiet scored a team-high 23 points for Westchester (7-15), which overcame an early 15-point deficit to prevail. Kevin McCullar Jr. had 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals, while Bryson Warren added 20 points, connecting on six 3-pointers. Off the bench, Isaiah Roby contributed 16 points and Paul Zilinskas scored 14, including four clutch free throws in the final nine seconds to seal the win. Dillon Jones finished with 11 points and nine rebounds, while Dink Pate scored 10.

Curtis Jones led all scorers with 37 points on 9-for-17 shooting 3-pointer and dished out seven assists for Grand Rapids (7-14). His backcourt running mate, Dane Goodwin, had 36 points and 10 rebounds. Center Moses Brown, playing against his former team, posted 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Reserve Terrence Hargrove, Jr. added 11 points.

There were nine lead changes in the fourth quarter. After McCullar Jr. gave the Knicks a 120-119 lead with a layup at the 1:18 mark, Grand Rapids missed its final three field goal attempts. Zilinskas was fouled with 8.1 seconds remaining and made both free throws to create a three-point cushion. Following a missed 3-pointer by the Gold, Zilinskas secured the rebound, was fouled again and made two more free throws for the final margin.
