Skyforce use balanced attack to cruise past Hustle
Cam Carter led six Sioux Falls Skyforce players in double figures in a 119-82 victory over the host Memphis Hustle on Thursday.
Carter finished with 19 points for Sioux Falls (15-13), which shot 48.6% from 3-point range. Josh Christopher scored 18 points, and Dain Dainja and Gabe Madsen each contributed 17. Vladislav Goldin had 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Keshad Johnson added 16 points and 10 boards. Dennis Smith Jr. chipped in a game-high 10 assists.
The Hustle (6-22) were held to a season-low 82 points in the loss. Charlie Brown Jr. led the team with 16 points, and Orlando Robinson had 15 points and 14 rebounds. Lance Terry was the only other Memphis player in double figures with 10 points.
Memphis, playing without center Lawson Lovering because of an ankle injury, held a brief five-point lead early before Sioux Falls took control. The Skyforce broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring the Hustle 42-22 to turn a 16-point halftime lead into a 36-point advantage. The lead grew to as many as 48 points in the second half. The Hustle struggled from the field all night, shooting just 31% overall and 21.4% from beyond the arc, while the Skyforce connected on 17 of 35 3-point attempts.
