Jeffries scores 39 as Kings dominate Squadron

DaQuan Jeffries scored a game-high 39 points to lead the Stockton Kings to a 124-99 victory over the Birmingham Squadron on Thursday night at Adventist Health Arena.

Jon Elmore was a major contributor for Stockton (17-8), pouring in 29 points with six 3-pointers and dishing out six assists. The Kings also received a significant boost from their bench, with Antoine Davis scoring 22 points on six 3-pointers. Jaylin Williams added 14 points, while Gabe Levin controlled the boards with a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Squadron (10-19) had three players finish with 19 points: Hunter Dickinson, Josh Oduro and Christian Shumate. Dickinson grabbed nine rebounds and Oduro got eight. Trey Alexander chipped in 13 points and led the team with six assists.

Stockton overcame an early deficit and seized control in the first quarter, outscoring Birmingham 36-25, fueled by a hot start from Jeffries. The Kings extended their lead to 62-40 by halftime. The Squadron mounted a comeback in the third quarter, capped by a 49-foot buzzer-beating shot from Shumate to cut the deficit to 14. However, Stockton reasserted its dominance in the final period, outscoring Birmingham 36-25 to secure the comfortable win. The Kings were prolific from beyond the arc, connecting on 20 of their 50 3-point attempts.
