Love scores all of Rip City's OT points, Remix snap Lakers' 12-game win streak

Caleb Love took over in overtime, scoring all seven of Rip City's points, including the game-winning 3-pointer, to lift the Remix to a 133-126 home victory over the South Bay Lakers on Tuesday night, snapping the Lakers' 12-game winning streak.

Love finished with a team-high 28 points for the Remix (17-15), who received key contributions from across the lineup. Chris Youngblood scored 23 points and added six assists, while Javonte Cooke provided 20 points and five rebounds. Alex Reese was efficient in his 24 minutes of play, scoring 15 points on 5-for-6 shooting.

The Lakers (22-9) were led by a game-high 29 points from RJ Davis, who shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc. Nick Smith Jr. contributed 25 points and seven assists, and Malik Williams posted 24 points, including four 3-pointers, and six rebounds.

South Bay held a lead as large as 12 points, but Rip City battled back. The Lakers forced overtime when Smith hit a fadeaway jumper with 15 seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 126-126. Cooke's subsequent 3-point attempt for the win was off the mark, sending the game to an extra period.

In overtime, with a target score of 133, Love was unstoppable. He scored on a layup and a driving dunk before sealing the victory with a step-back 3-pointer, single-handedly outscoring the Lakers 7-0 in the period to secure a crucial win for the Remix's playoff hopes.

Up next: The Remix will host the Raptors 905 on Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET, while the Lakers return home to face the Grand Rapids Gold on Friday at 10 p.m.
