Moore's 18 points lead Capitanes past Nets 111-102

The Mexico City Capitanes defeated the Long Island Nets 111-102 on Saturday at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The Capitanes used a balanced scoring attack and dominant bench play to overcome a third-quarter surge from the Nets and secure the victory in their season opener.

Isaih Moore led the Capitanes (1-0) with a team-high 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting, adding six rebounds and three steals in a powerful performance off the bench. The reserve unit provided a significant spark, as Andersson Garcia contributed 14 points and nine rebounds in just 17 minutes of action. LJ Figueroa also had a major impact, finishing with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and a game-high 5 steals. Starting guard James Bouknight scored 17 points, including four 3-pointers, while Boo Buie added 13 points and five assists. 

For the Long Island Nets (0-1), E.J. Liddell posted a strong all-around game with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Trevon Scott added 15 points and four rebounds. The Nets' backcourt was productive, with Nolan Traore recording 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Yuri Collins chipped in 13 points and five assists. Tyson Etienne came off the bench to score 11 points and had six assists in the losing effort.

Mexico City built a 10-point lead by halftime, entering the break up 60-50. However, the Nets mounted a furious comeback in the third quarter, outscoring the Capitanes 32-25 to cut the deficit to just three points heading into the final period. The Capitanes weathered the storm and pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Nets 26-20 to seal the win. The Capitanes' bench was a deciding factor in the contest, outscoring the Nets' reserves 59-35.
