McClung scores 23 as Bulls hold off Hustle

The Windy City Bulls defeated the Memphis Hustle 110-102 on Saturday at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando as part of the NBA G League Winter Showcase. Windy City established a commanding lead early and withstood several comeback attempts by Memphis to secure the victory.

The Bulls were led by a balanced offensive effort from their starters. Mac McClung paced the team with 22 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds, including three 3-pointers. Kevin Knox II contributed 19 points and 7 rebounds while shooting 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. Trentyn Flowers added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Lachlan Olbrich recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and added six assists. Off the bench, Wooga Poplar provided 10 points in just eight minutes of action.

For the Hustle, GG Jackson led all scorers with a game-high 30 points to go along with 7 rebounds. Charlie Brown Jr. posted 16 points and 9 rebounds in the loss. Nate Hinton nearly secured a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 9 rebounds, while Jahmai Mashack pulled down 10 rebounds and added 9 points and 4 steals.

Windy City jumped out to a 36-16 lead after the first quarter and extended its advantage to as many as 23 points during the game. Memphis steadily chipped away at the deficit, cutting the lead to single digits multiple times in the second half and to within four points. The Bulls responded with timely baskets from McClung and Knox to put the game away.
