DETROIT -- As expected, the Spartans will definitely have a home-court advantage in tonight's national championship game against North Carolina.

MSU fans have apparently gobbled up the thousands of tickets that hit the streets after Connecticut and Villanova lost in Saturday night's national semifinals.

North Carolina fans typically travel well, and the Tar Heels are well represented at Ford Field. But MSU fans probably outnumber their UNC counterparts by at least 20 to 1.

Other pregame sights:

• A Detroit policeman telling UNC fans, "Hey, North Carolina fans! Ford Field is the other way. It's that tall building down by the river!" How's that for home court?

• Rev. Jesse Jackson is sitting behind the MSU bench, chatting with Lupe, the wife of Spartans coach Tom Izzo.

• Best court-side signs: "Ty is going to lay down the Lawson" and "Weather forecast for Detroit: Wayne drops all night long."

• UNC coach Roy Williams seemed to get a kick out of The Temptations' rendition of the national anthem. He was grinning and smiling throughout the song. Maybe the Tar Heels coach is beginning to loosen up a little bit. He seemed pretty tight Sunday.
