Nice rally to victory at Bordeaux

Nice continued their winning start to the new year, coming from behind to post a 2-1 victory at Bordeaux.A penalty from Diego Rolan gave Les Girondins the lead shortly after the half hour, but that was cancelled out by Jordan Amavi midway through the second half.A draw then seemed the most likely outcome but Alassane Plea had other ideas and struck in the dying seconds to earn Nice back-to-back wins in Ligue 1.Claude Puel's men move up to 10th on the back of Friday's result while Bordeaux, who have now gone four league matches without victory, stay sixth and in danger of losing that spot over the weekend.Willy Sagnol's Bordeaux, the only team still to score in the first 15 minutes of a Ligue 1 game this season, nevertheless dominated the first half hour and should have scored through Rolan, who blasted wide. But they were soon awarded a penalty when Mouez Hassen impeded Nicolas Maurice-Belay and Rolan fooled the goalkeeper with a well-driven spot-kick.Les Girondins might have doubled their advantage before the break but Hassen was wise to Diego Contento's movement towards the far post and covered the German's run.Nice slowly chipped away at their hosts' resolve when play resumed and in the 66th minute Amavi surprised a passive Bordeaux defence by winning the ball with his head before turning and sticking it past Cedric Carrasso.Amavi and Gregory Sertic exchanged chances as the game opened up and Emiliano Sala really should have restored Bordeaux's lead when he was well-placed to notch in the 86th minute. But at the death it fell to Plea to turn the game on its head, the former Lyon winger latching on to Eric Beutheac's pass from the right wing and killing off Bordeaux's challenge with his left boot.
