Edinburgh makes winning start
Justin Edinburgh's first match in charge of Gillingham ended in a 2-1 win at Peterborough to maintain his side's unbeaten run.John Marquis drilled in the winning goal after 79 minutes to make it six league games without defeat for the Gills.Bradley Dack's earlier finish for the visitors had been cancelled out in the second half by Jack Payne.Peterborough dominated early on and somehow failed to take the lead when Luke James drilled in a cross from the right and centre-half Shaun Brisley hit the underside of the crossbar from two yards out.Gillingham opened the scoring when Dack steered in Bradley Garmston's cross from 14 yards out after half an hour.The equaliser came in the 55th minute as James pulled the ball back to Payne who turned on to his left foot and slid the ball into the net from the edge of the area.Millwall loanee Marquis grabbed the winner from just inside the box when he met Jake Hessenthaler's cut-back from the right to score at the near post.
