Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt

Karim Bellarabi salvaged Bayer Leverkusen a 1-1 draw late on against Eintracht Frankfurt as two of the Bundesliga's most entertaining sides disappointed in their final match before the winter break. The expected fireworks did not arrive at the BayArena, leaving Alexander Meier to net his customary goal and Bellarabi to snatch an 83rd-minute leveller.A full house did not get the expected spectacle, but both sets of fans will be largely satisfied with their side's respective league positions as the Bundesliga takes a break for the next six weeks.Frankfurt games have averaged over four goals this season while Leverkusen have developed a reputation for their attacking football so it was something of a surprise that goalmouth action was lacking early on.Apart from a Lucas Piazon free-kick which was too weak to cause Bernd Leno any problems, there was no threat at either end for the first half an hour.Haris Seferovic also tried his luck from a set-piece which cleared the crossbar before Tin Jedvaj did the visitors a favour by hauling Takashi Inui to the ground inside the penalty area.Meier stepped up to the spot to score his 13th goal of the season, extending his lead at the top of the Bundesliga scoring charts.Leverkusen changed their attitude going into the second half and started to find chinks in Frankfurt's armour.A mistake by Slobodan Medojevic gave away possession in a dangerous position and allowed Bellarabi the chance to level with practically his side's first shot of the game - in the 83rd minute. His shot found its way just inside the right-hand post, beating Timo Hildebrand to earn Leverkusen a point and take them back up to third.ends
