DC United rally on Chris Rolfe winner to overcome Kaka and Orlando City SC
WASHINGTON -- Kofi Opare and Chris Rolfe scored second-half goals and D.C. United rallied to beat Orlando City 2-1 on Wednesday night to extend their undefeated streak to eight games
It's D.C. United's longest unbeaten stretch since 2007.
Opare leapt over his defender and headed in Taylor Kemp's free kick in the 70th minute. Rolfe, who entered the game in the 54th minute, fully extended to touch home Miguel Aguilar's chipped pass in the 79th.
D.C. United is undefeated in 14 straight league home games. Orlando has lost three of its last four games.
Rookie Cyle Larin gave Orlando City a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute with his third goal of the season. A loose ball fell to his feet at the top of the 18-yard box and his quick shot found an opening through traffic.
"Yeah, I think we're a little disappointed with the first half again," Rolfe said. "But we finally got the change of mentality that we've been looking for and we're really happy with the result tonight."
United, which moved into first place in the Eastern Conference, didn't put much pressure on Orlando goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts until Nick DeLeon's close-range shot in the 69th minute.
