Valentin Eyserric extends Rennes' wait for a win
Rennes' search for a first league win in four was ruined after Valentin Eyserric's late penalty claimed a point for St Etienne in a 1-1 draw.The visitors grabbed the lead five minutes from the interval when Giovanni Sio's cross found Pedro Henrique and some lapse defending allowed the Brazilian to open the scoring.Despite trailing, St Etienne continued to create the better chances but Neal Maupay was guilty of the biggest miss midway through the second half when he failed to head on target from Kevin Monnet-Pacquet's dangerous delivery.Then, with 12 minutes to play, Les Verts got their deserved leveller when Eysseric scored from the penalty spot after Romain Hamouma was felled by Sylvain Armand.
