- Alan Trouten - 38'
Ayr stay top after narrow win over Albion
Alan Trouten's first half goal ensured Ayr remain top of Scottish League One after their 1-0 win over Albion at Somerset Park. The Honest Men took the lead on the half-hour mark after midfielder Trouten rifled his shot into the top right-hand corner after being teed up by Nicky Devlin.Nineteen-year-old forward Alan Forrest should have doubled their lead in the second half but his tame effort failed to hit the target while Albion midfielder Gary Fisher had their best chance but could not force a breakthrough.Fourth-placed Rovers occupy the last promotion play-off despite the defeat, while Ian McCall's men maintained their 13-match unbeaten streak in the league.
