Carlos Bacca penalty seals points for Milan at Sassuolo

Gianluigi Donnarumma kept a clean sheet on the day after his 18th birthday as AC Milan won 1-0 at Sassuolo in a controversial game on Sunday.

Carlos Bacca scored the only goal of the match in the 22nd minute from the penalty spot, but Sassuolo thought it should have been ruled out after the forward touched the ball with both feet as he slipped when taking the kick.

The penalty was awarded after Alberto Aquilani had tripped Andrea Bertolacci -- and it came after Domenico Berardi had fired wide from the spot from Sassuolo.

The result puts Milan a point behind city rivals Inter, who take on second-placed Roma later on Sunday.
