Marseille close gap to Monaco after win at Dijon
Dimitri Payet saw a penalty saved in stoppage time before then converting another spot-kick as Marseille closed the gap on second-placed Monaco with a 3-1 win at Dijon. After a slow start at Stade Gaston-Gerard, Marseille took the lead in the 36th minutes through a close-range finish from Valere Germain. The visitors were forced to make a change in the 57th minute when goalkeeper Steve Mandanda hobbled off and was replaced by Yohann Pele. After Argentinian forward Lucas Ocampos fired over, Dijon equalised in the 73rd minute through a low shot from South Korea international Kwon Chang-hoon.However, with just two minutes left, Ocampos knocked the ball in from a corner to restore Marseille's lead. With 90 minutes up, Dijon defender Cedric Yambere was shown a straight red card for fouling Ocampos in the penalty area - but Payet saw the resulting spot-kick saved by Baptiste Reynet. In a dramatic finale, Marseille were then awarded another penalty in stoppage time when Payet was fouled by Wesley Lautoa and this time the former West Ham midfielder made no mistake from 12 yards.
