Lucas Cavallini, Vancouver Whitecaps snap skid with win over Real Salt Lake
Lucas Cavallini scored the tie-breaking goal in the 75th minute as the Vancouver Whitecaps snapped a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory against Real Salt Lake on Saturday night in Portland, Ore.
The game was played at Providence Park, which will be the Whitecaps' home away from home for the remainder of the regular season because of travel and quarantine restrictions imposed by the Canadian government due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Whitecaps pulled even with RSL in the Western Conference playoff race. The teams are tied for 10th in the West, with the top eight making the postseason.
Cavallini's goal, his third of the season to tie Fredy Montero for the team lead, came off the rebound of a Montero shot.
A cross from the left wing pinballed around the middle of the penalty area until Montero took a shot from about 12 yards out that was knocked aside by RSL goalkeeper Andrew Putna. But the ball went straight to Cavallini at the top right of the 6-yard box, and his one-timer snuck under a diving Putna for the deciding goal.
The Whitecaps had tied the score in the 71st minute on an own goal by RSL's Douglas Martinez. A Vancouver free kick from about 40 yards out led to a collision in the penalty area and the ball bounced off an unsuspecting Martinez's head and into the upper left corner of the net.
Damir Kreilach scored the game's opening goal in the 37th minute for RSL, whose winless streak reached four matches.
Maikel Chang's cross from the right wing went to Justin Meram at the top left of the 6-yard box. Meram headed the ball to a wide-open Kreilach in the middle of the field and he put a one-timer past recently acquired Whitecaps goalie Evan Bush.
Bush and Putna were both credited with two saves. Each team attempted eight shots.
