Pedro Gallese helps Orlando City to draw with Chicago Fire

Pedro Gallese made four saves to help visiting Orlando City SC record a scoreless draw against Chicago Fire FC at Soldier Field on Saturday.

The clean sheet was the second in as many matches this season for Gallese, who stopped both shots he faced in the Lions' 2-0 win over CF Montreal last Saturday. It's his 12th shutout for Orlando City, in his third season.

Junior Urso appeared to open the scoring from just outside the box in the 73rd minute off a deflection by Chicago. A video review, however, disallowed the goal because of a handball on Ercan Kara.

Chicago (0-0-2, 2 points) held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks against Orlando City (1-0-1, 4 points).

Gabriel Slonina was not credited with a save for the Fire, who have yet to score a goal this season. They also played to a scoreless draw in the season opener against Inter Miami CF last Saturday.

Chicago is 3-0-3 in its last six home matches against Orlando City. The Fire posted a 3-1 home win over the Lions last season.

Chicago players earned five yellow cards for bad fouls in the match: Fabian Herbers, Miguel Angel Navarro, Jhon Duran, Boris Sekulic and Gaston Gimenez.

Orlando City's Cesar Araujo and Gallese also received yellow cards, both late in the second half.

Chicago enjoyed the better of play right out of the chute, as the club recorded four corner kicks in the first 20 minutes. The Fire's best opportunity to open the scoring came in the 18th minute after Stanislav Ivanov's blast from outside the box was punched away by Gallese.

Gimenez's bid from outside of the box sailed high of the net in the 29th minute and Herbers' left-footed shot from the center of the box was denied by Gallese 13 minutes later.

Gallese also thwarted Gimenez's left-footed shot from outside the box in the 52nd minute and a header from in close by Kacper Przybylko in the 85th minute.
