            Southend secure third win in eight days to sink Bradford

            Two goals in six second-half minutes earned Southend a 2-0 win at Bradford.It was their third win in eight days and ended Bradford's four-match unbeaten run.The Bantams who lost striker Kai Bruenker to injury in the 14th minute, came closest to scoring in a scrappy first half when goalkeeper Mark Oxley dived full-length to turn away Callum Guy's 20-yard shot.They also came close to breaking the deadlock in the 56th minute only to be denied by Oxley, who made two superb goal-line saves after a free-kick from Tony McMahon caused problems for the visitors' defence.First, he stopped a close-range header from Timothee Dieng and then blocked substitute Dom Poleon's shot when the ball rebounded into the striker's path.Southend went in front in the 72nd minute after home goalkeeper Colin Doyle made his first serious save of the match, diving to turn San Mantom's shot away for a corner.Bradford did not properly clear the danger and, when Stephen McLaughlin returned the ball into the goalmouth, skipper John White headed the visitors into the lead.Southend went further ahead in the 78th minute following a swift breakaway after a Bradford attack broke down.Dru Yearwood raced to the edge of the home penalty area before playing the ball out to Marc-Antoine Fortune on the left and his right-foot shot hit defender Nat Knight-Percival before looping into the far corner of the net.

              MK Dons slip closer to League Two with defeat at Bradford

              Bradford extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 2-0 home win against second bottom MK Dons - a result that pushes the Dons closer to League Two.They are six points adrift safety with only two matches to play and a massively inferior goal difference to their rivals with this their fifth successive defeat.The visitors, who often looked dangerous in attack without being able to add a finishing touch, were first to threaten. Chuks Aneke headed Callum Brittain's corner against the crossbar in the seventh minute, but it was Bradford, who took the lead in the 12th minute following their first meaningful attack.Callum Guy's goalbound shot was deflected for a corner by Elliott Ward and when Tony McMahon swung the ball into the goalmouth Tim Dieng scored with a close range header.Only a fine save from Wieger Sietsma prevented Kai Bruenker from increasing Bradford's lead in the 38th minute and Bruenker wasted a good chance in the 54th minute when he fired over from eight yards.However, the Bantams scored their second goal in the 80th minute after the visitors' defence failed to deal with McMahon's free kick awarded when Marcus Tavernier was booked from bringing down Alex Gilliead.Sietsma punched the ball off the head of Nat Knight-Percival and the Bradford defender retrieved the loose ball before hammering it high into the net and McMahon almost added a third when he fired against the crossbar in the 87th minute.

                Charlie Wyke denies Rochdale at the death

                Rochdale remain in the League One relegation zone after Charlie Wyke struck late on to secure Bradford a 1-1 draw. Dale looked on course to climb out of the bottom four for the first time since mid-December when Matt Done fired them ahead just before the break. But goalkeeper Josh Lillis dropped a routine 89th-minute cross to present Wyke with the simplest of finishes, leaving Dale a point from safety. The home side's deserved breakthrough came a minute before the break. Tenacious work from Calvin Andrew and a deep cross from left to right by Joe Thompson saw Brad Inman nod the ball into Done's path. He took a touch before rifling a superb finish across Colin Doyle and into the far corner of the net.After the break, Wyke volleyed Tony McMahon's centre over the crossbar while Nicky Law rolled an effort across the face of goal and wide. It looked like Dale had held out for victory until the 89th minute when Lillis spilled a routine cross and Wyke poked home.

                  Portsmouth's play-off hopes dented by Bradford

                  Bradford dented the Sky Bet League One play-off hopes of Portsmouth with only their second win in 16 matches.Pompey had the chance to move into the top six but were denied by Nat Knight-Percival, substitute Matthew Lund and leading scorer Charlie Wyke - who gave the Bantams a 3-1 victory.Knight-Percival put Bradford in front in the 14th minute. Tony McMahon's corner was headed into the defender's path by Matt Kilgallon and Knight-Percival hooked the ball high into the net.Colin Doyle then made two saves from Wolves loanee Connor Ronan and Portsmouth captain Brett Pitman to preserve Bradford's lead before half-time.Portsmouth equalised in the 61st minute with a superb goal from Pitman - his 22nd of the League One season. The Pompey skipper took a pass from substitute Stuart O'Keefe and scored with a 25-yard shot, the ball taking a slight deflection as it flew past the diving Doyle and into the corner.Lund, on loan from Burton, restored Bradford's lead in the 71st minute with his first goal for the club, racing on to Wyke's flicked pass before forcing his way past Matt Clarke.Wyke then put the result beyond doubt in the fifth minute of added time, slotting the ball into the empty net after keeper Luke McGee parried McMahon's 20-yard free-kick.
