Northern Colorado races past Weber State 80-55 in Big Sky
RENO, Nev. -- Andre Spight scored 25 points, Jonah Radebaugh added 20 and fifth-seeded Northern Colorado raced past fourth-seeded Weber State 80-55 on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Big Conference Tournament.
Spight had three 3-pointers and a 3-point play, scoring the last 12 points of a 14-0 run that put the Bears (22-11) in the lead for good, 19-7 with 11 1/2 to go in the first half. Spight had 17 points at the break and the Bears led 42-26.
The lead reached 58-30 as Northern Colorado opened the second half with 16-4 run, all but sealing a Friday night semifinal date with league champion Montana.
Radebaugh was 5 of 6 from distance and Spight 3 of 4 and the Bears finished 10 of 16 and shot 52 percent from the field. They also had a 42-29 rebounding advantage, helping second-year coach Jeff Linder beat his former team for the first time.
Jerrick Harding and Brekkott Chapman had 18 points apiece with Chapman grabbing 12 boards for the Wildcats (20-11), who won both regular-season meetings.
