Defense shines as Vermont tops Stony Brook 56-50

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Anthony Lamb had 14 points and seven rebounds as Vermont got past Stony Brook 56-50 on Saturday night. Stef Smith added 10 points for the Catamounts, who held the Seawolves to 29.8 percent shooting, the lowest mark of the season for a Vermont opponent.

Ben Shungu had eight rebounds for Vermont (23-6, 13-2 America East Conference), which earned its fourth consecutive home victory.
