Capitanes use massive bench effort to rally past Charge

The Mexico City Capitanes were powered by an extraordinary performance from its bench, which accounted for 89 points, to overcame a 15-point second-half deficit and defeat the Cleveland Charge 126-119 on Wednesday night at the Mexico City Arena. The Capitanes outscored the Charge 36-19 in a dominant fourth quarter.

Mexico City (6-2) received a team-high 26 points from Felipe Haase with the second unit, as he connected on 7 of 10 three-point attempts. LJ Figueroa added 22 points, while fellow reserves Andersson Garcia finished with 20 points, six rebounds and four steals and Wade Taylor IV tallied 17 points and eight assists.

The loss for Cleveland (4-2) came despite a stellar performances from Killian Hayes and Tristan Enaruna. Hayes finished with 27 points and set a new G League single-game high for the 2025-26 season with 18 assists. Enaruna, in his return from a three-game absence due to a thumb injury, scored a team-high 29 points and added seven rebounds.

Other key contributors for the Charge included Jaxson Robinson, who scored 21 points and made four 3-pointers in his first professional start. Norchad Omier recorded his 11th double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds. However, Cleveland went cold from long range in the final period, shooting 0-for-10 from three-point range in the fourth quarter.

Up next: The Charge will play at the Texas Legends on Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET, while the Capitanes will match up with the visiting Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday at 9 p.m.
