Hayes scores 24 as Charge defeat Squadron

The Cleveland Charge defeated the Birmingham Squadron 113-104 on Thursday at Legacy Arena, using a balanced offensive attack to secure the road victory.

Killian Hayes led the way for the Charge (7-4), scoring a game-high 24 points on 10-for-18 shooting while also dishing out seven assists. Tristan Enaruna had 20 points and hit four of his seven 3-point attempts. The Cleveland frontcourt was bolstered by Norchad Omier, who posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Luke Travers contributed 8 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals, while Darius Brown added 11 points and five assists.

The Squadron (4-12) were paced by Trey Alexander, who recorded a team-high 23 points to go along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Jaden Springer added 17 points and five rebounds. All five Squadron starters scored in double figures, with Keion Brooks Jr. scoring 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting. Hunter Dickinson chipped in with 13 points and four assists, and Johnny O'Neil had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Cleveland established an early advantage, outscoring Birmingham 34-25 in the opening quarter and taking a 57-53 lead into halftime. While the Squadron battled to keep the game close and briefly took the lead in the third quarter, the Charge answered each rally. Cleveland's 32-point third quarter helped it regain control, and it held off Birmingham in the final frame to seal the win.
