No. 19 Marquette women beat Montana State 100-52
MILWAUKEE -- Allazia Blockton scored 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting, including three 3-pointers, and No. 19 Marquette beat Montana State 100-52 in a Preseason WNIT game on Friday night.
Amani Wilborn made all seven of her shots and added 17 points, Isabelle Spingola had three 3-pointers and 13 points, Natisha Hiedeman added 14 points and Lauren Van Kleunen and Danielle King had 11 each.
King eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark giving the Golden Eagles (2-0) five active 1,000-point scorers. Blockton, Hiedeman, Wilborn and Erika Davenport, who had 10 rebounds Friday, are the others. Marquette is the only program currently with that distinction.
The Golden Eagles shot 56 percent, made 11 3-pointers, scored 35 points off 23 turnovers and outscored Montana State by 30 in the paint. They led 28-9 after one quarter and 57-26 at halftime.
Oliana Squires scored 14 points and Claire Lundberg 10 for the Bobcats (1-1).
