OVC champ Belmont 1st to nab NCAA tourney bid

Led by freshman Destinee Wells' 32 points, Belmont became the first team to earn an automatic bid into the NCAA women's basketball tournament by defeating top-seeded UT Martin 83-75 on Saturday for the Ohio Valley Conference championship crown.


Cooper, South Carolina roll past Belmont in women's NCAAs

Te'a Cooper scored 13 points, Alexis Jennings added 12 points and nine rebounds, and fourth-seeded South Carolina shook off a sluggish start to pull away from No. 13 seed Belmont 74-52 on Friday in the opening round of the women's NCAA Tournament.


Belmont women top UT Martin 59-53, 4th straight NCAA berth

Top three remain the same in mid-major rankings
