Law: Cubs pay a heavy prospect price in deal with Detroit

The Cubs shored up the back end of their roster but gave up two top 10 prospects to do so.

Justin Wilson is in the midst of a career year, boosted by a career-high 35 percent strikeout rate and an unsustainably low .210 BABIP, but even expecting some regression to the mean, you can expect him to be an above-average reliever. He's also better than a specialist -- despite a lack of any real changeup, Wilson has been slightly better against right-handed batters in his career by OBP/SLG, with a higher strikeout rate against left-handed batters.
