Here are the most interesting tidbits for each team from Day 3 of the MLB draft. But first, a few notes:
• The number in parentheses indicates the round in which that player was selected.
• If we have scouting profiles of the player mentioned, his name will link to these in-depth profiles, written by Christopher Crawford, Keith Law and myself.
• We use the 20-80 grading scale for all MLB prospects.
Arizona: The Diamondbacks kicked off Day 3 by selecting Nevada first baseman Austin Byler (round 11, pictured above), who has above-average power but a grade 35 bat. They also selected squat RHP Wesley Rodriguez (12) out of George Washington High School (New York), Manny Ramirez's alma mater. Rodriguez has a pure reliever body and delivery, but sits in the mid-90s with feel for a slider.
