Bout halted in fourth round

NEW YORK -- English heavyweight Roman Greenberg improved to
18-0 Friday night, stopping Marcus McGee at 1:29 of the fourth
round of their scheduled eight-round bout.

Greenberg, a native of Israel, used a solid right-left
combination to send McGee, from Tuscaloosa, Ala., to the canvas for
the first time in the fourth round.

McGee (12-6) got up at the count of nine, but staggered after
taking two steps and fell again. Once again, the American tried to
continue, but flopped to the canvas after being hit slightly.
Greenberg then sent his opponent sprawling again and, at the count
of five, referee Eddie Cotton halted the bout.

Greenberg weighed in at 238 pounds, 21 more than McGee.

"No question, I'm stronger and faster than I have ever been,"
said Greenberg, who has 13 knockouts. "Hopefully, I will continue
to climb to get a world ranking."
